Responsibilities
* Uses analytical troubleshooting skills to make repairs and corrections based on observation of equipment in operation and product defects * Dismantles defective machinery and equipment to gain access to problem area or to install new or repaired parts * Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems. Repairs or replaces defective parts * Realigns and adjusts machine components * Tests machines following repairs to ensure good product quality prior to returning machine to service * Inspects used parts to determine if they meet acceptable standards for use in equipment. * Repairs and maintains physical structure of facility * Assists in training lower level mechanics * Performs preventive maintenance functions * Assists in fabricating parts * Orders parts as required and uses computerized maintenance system to keep accurate maintenance records. * Assists in rebuilding and overhaul of machinery * Follows all safety, GMP's and BRC guidelines and company plant rules * Performs other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Three (3) years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment * Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems * Basic knowledge of electrical systems * Ability to provide a set of basic mechanic's hand tools to function * Ability to diagnose and analyze mechanical problems * Ability to enter information and maintain data on maintenance software and order parts * Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers * Ability to work 3rd shift hours (11:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.) * Ability to work overtime when necessary * Ability to work weekends when required * Good attendance is a condition of employment
