Seeking a flexible, strategic and high-energy communication leader to join Dairy Management Inc. (DMI). As part of a dynamic team, this role will act as a catalyst, helping lead communications efforts across a wide variety of topics and stakeholders, with a focus on B2B/industry communications among DMI staff, industry partners, state and regional partners, marketplace partners and more. The role will report to the EVP of Communications and will collaborate closely with the head of digital strategy, the head of content strategy for the publishing platform and the head of campaign strategy & integration. DMI is seeking a candidate with a strong interest and proven track record in the food and agriculture space, experience using communications to develop and shift organizational culture and an ability to think creatively, act with passion and intelligence, and balance stakeholder needs with insights.
- Responsible for industry/B2B communications and mobilizing a team against the strategic vision of the company
- Work closely with leadership to package, share and present strategy to executives and industry stakeholders/partners to ensure alignment, integration and strong ROI; Engage directly with stakeholders
- Serve as the Innovation Center and industry liaison in addition to acting as the gate keeper for key industry relationships at the state and region levels and with marketplace partners
- Provide strategic counsel, guidance and leadership to staff, supervising staff members, and ensuring the team's success by managing work quality and productivity levels
- Maintain relationships with senior-level executives, industry partners and other stakeholders as appropriate
- Develop strategy and communications for key marketplace partners working with DMI communications lead
- Serve as activation and go-to-market strategist working closely with the head of campaign strategy & integration
- Coordinate and facilitate regular cadence of industry communications prior/during/post campaign launches and milestones; includes facilitation of webinars, written updates, in person meetings and presentations, etc. along with broader integration of internal communications with existing collaboration and sharing platforms
- Mentor, coach and support team members ensuring constant development of their skills
- Seek and suggest process improvements and support positive change initiatives
- Consistently hold self and staff accountable for behavior and performance
- The senior vice president must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including communications, research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing. Practical experience in strategic consulting, food & agriculture policy, consumer food marketing, and/or internal or external communications preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
