We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer who will be able to hit the ground running and play a leadership role.

The Principal Mechanical Engineer designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Will conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity and excellent problem solving skills. - Researching design options and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility or application - Constructing prototypes; evaluating and documenting their performance; identifying possible improvements - Designing innovative electronic packaging for high power RF equipment - Developing heat management technology using forced air and water cooling methods - Creating and implementing suitable tests to verify designs meet mechanical requirements - Collaborating with vendors to produce mechanical components and assemblies - Creating engineering drawings utilizing SolidWorks - Creating test plans, and write technical reports - Supporting new product development engineering and Technical Operations - Mentoring other engineers and technicians

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent technical Degree - Experience and strong technical background in High Power RF Electronics a plus - Knowledge of material science to explore new and existing materials and to solve design challenges - Experience in electronic packaging (EMI shielding, RF and high current/voltage transmission paths) - Experience in thermal analysis and simulation using modeling software such as Flowtherm or Icepak - 8 plus years of related experience - Excellent organizational skills a must - Ability to understand and manage tradeoffs between cost, performance and design effort
