CoverMyMeds is a web-based provider of Prior Authorization (PA) support for physicians and pharmacists. By bringing the paper-based workflow into a 21st century electronic process, CoverMyMeds has created a PA model that improves efficiency and results in lower prescription abandonment.

Started in 2008, CoverMyMeds now serves as the one-stop PA shop for tens of thousands of health care providers, and helps reduce physician and pharmacist PA management time from hours to a few minutes per week. The service is provided for free to physician offices and pharmacists.

CoverMyMeds is the first “all drug, all payer” electronic PA workflow for physicians, pharmacists and their staff. Because most health plans do not support an electronic interchange format, CoverMyMeds typically enters the health plan’s workflow through the published fax number of the health plan’s PA department. In short, CoverMyMeds alleviates administrative burden and allows providers to spend more time treating patients.
