Summary
Contech Engineer Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for facilitating and implementing new process technology, standardization, new product introduction, process installations and continuous improvement at all manufacturing plants; support manufacturing to address and solve technical and process related issues; and manage projects as assigned to include planning, coordinating, controlling and follow-up activities to achieve Operational Excellence.
Responsibilities
* Support manufacturing to address technical and process related problems that include root cause analysis, being a liaison between plant leadership and suppliers to identify and resolve process issues with long term solutions that are sustainable. * Manage Total Preventive Maintenance process to ensure optimum uptime and equipment life expectancy * Oversee and control critical spare part inventory to include inventory accuracy and expenditure tracking * Facilitate new technologies improvements that include new product introduction, new process introduction and manufacturing flow to eliminate waste. * Facilitate “Lean Thinking Culture” to include process standardization, setup reduction, flow layout that results in lower operating cost. * Manage projects as assigned to include planning, coordinating, controlling and follow-up activities to ensure projects are executed to meet committed targets and within budget. * Assist in supporting and providing the plant with a safe working environment through safety awareness; enforcing strict compliance to all safety regulations and policies. * Identify and provide technical training as required to manufacturing sites. * Provide technical support for Quality Systems to ensure that quality requirements are achieved in sustained. * Other duties assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in machining and/ or manufacturing environments * Knowledge of die design and repair * Must have excellent mechanical aptitude ability. * Hands-On approach to job task to include seeking additional information on the task as required. * Must be a self- starter and able to execute job tasks with limited supervision * Must be detailed oriented * Project management experience in planning, coordinating, execution and follow-up is critical to position success. Necessary skill sets include the following: * Excellent time management skill & ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Excellent verbal and writing communication skills. * Data driven approach to root cause problem solving approach in identifying improvement opportunities and determining best method to implement long term solutions. * Flow layout and cycle time analysis skills. * Process mapping skills. * Process variation analysis skills * Extensive travel involved. (50-65% of the time) * Computer skills proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
