Director of Product Management of Information Management

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Director of Product Management with extensive knowledge of large storage systems and distributed file systems for our Data Management platform. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor as well as a hands-on team leader, working closely with software development team to articulate customer and market needs and finalize product requirements. The Director will leverage her/his product management experience, strong analytic skills and a keen understanding of the information management and governance market to develop and promote Commvault solutions for retaining, accessing and optimizing business critical information. This person will work with the Marketing and Technical Sales teams to define messaging and bring solutions to market.

* Responsible for devising best practices, sizing, scoping and identifying competitive differentiation. * Define and articulate compelling use cases that reflect market needs. * Design best practices and sizing guidelines for solutions and communicate to the various technical teams in the organization. * Interact with enterprise customers, strategic partners and end user architects to extend product capabilities to new solution areas. * Act as the face of your product and go-to-person both internally and externally.

* BS/MS in Engineering; MBA is a plus. Product Management experience within the storage industry is required. * Minimum of 10+ years of product management, products strategy experience (preferably storage software, data/content management and/or data protection). * Deep understanding in large storage systems, file systems, drives and tapes. Understanding of the Data Management market specifically the intersection of backup and archive. * Good knowledge of large scale storage systems such as Hadoop Distributed File System, Cassandra etc. * Proven track record in developing thought leadership content such as white papers, case studies, solution guides, presentations, demos, contributed articles and sales training. * Writing samples from the past freely available in the public domain will be required through the hiring process. * Travel up to 30% will be required * Position can be located in either San Jose, CA or Tinton Falls, NJ
