We are seeking a highly talented Front End Engineer with a keen eye for design and quality; someone with entrepreneurial instincts, a strong sense of product, and a desire to build something from the ground up. This person will have the opportunity to impact all levels of our technology development and will influence our product development across the business.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate in designing, building, and testing world-class web applications * Work across product, marketing, legal, business development, and operations teams to build and improve our core products * Work across the team to understand the user experience and how to optimize experiences and processes to achieve our business goals * Design and implement web and mobile pages * Anticipate the user experience and contribute to entire product development process, including spec development and QA * This role will focus on front end development, however knowledge of back end functionality is required
Ideal Candidate
* The ideal candidate will have strong and demonstrated knowledge of design principles and usability and will be comfortable driving the user experience in collaboration with the rest of the team. * 3-7 years of experience, preferably at a blue chip software company and/or at a startup * Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript required * Proficiency with a CMS a plus * Familiarity with PHP or a similar enterprise-class scripting language a plus * Portfolio of work that ideally includes projects where you took the lead on the creation and implementation of the design * Excellent eye for design and strong UX design skills * Passionate about our mission to make students’ lives easier and disrupt finance in the process * Ability to work in a complex environment and prioritize among competing demands * Desire to collaborate with an extraordinary team and be part of true innovation

Working Conditions

We prefer the candidate work alongside the team in our NYC HQ but we are open to remote applicants as well.
