Mobile Applications Developer

Columbia College Chicago is a creative liberal arts college focused on rigorous academics, hands-on learning, collaboration and career preparation.

The Mobile Applications Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment and support of native/hybrid mobile applications for prospective and current student audiences and other audiences at Columbia College Chicago. The goal is to create focused mobile application products that deliver unsurpassed user experience and real value to prospective and current students.

- Collaborate with the Director of Digital and Online Strategy, Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Communications, and other stakeholders at the college to determine a vision for a mobile applications ecosystem at the College. - Collaborate with visual and UX designers to design mobile apps. - Work with Information Technology staff and other systems stakeholders to secure necessary and appropriate API access and interoperability with other Columbia College systems. - Develop apps within a cross-platform framework such as Ionic or PhoneJS for publishing to iOS, Android and other platforms as determined through analytics and market changes. - Develop a framework for testing mobile applications without the assistance of a dedicated QA team. - Launch mobile apps that are measureable. - Continue to iterate and improve apps based on relevant analytics, user and stakeholder feedback. - Perform other duties as assigned.

- BA/BS degree. - Minimum 2 years cross-platform mobile application development experience with a record of published applications. - Ability to create immersive and responsive user experience, utilizing unique capabilities of various mobile form factors. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Experience in higher education a plus, but not required.
