Summary
Our Technical Product Manager helps us transform ambiguous and subjective business processes - often dependent on many people - into objective and systematic systems that create an ecosystem that allows those same people to be 10x more effective. The Technical Product Manager has ownership and responsibility for defining big pieces of Clara’s product and platform. By understanding and conceptualizing real-world problems, the Technical Product Manager designs coherent and innovative solutions then works directly with subject matter experts and engineering teams to make them real. This person brings clarity from the chaos surrounding a tremendous business problem that affects real people's financial lives.
Responsibilities
* Work with mortgage operations subject matter experts and use a broad range of sources to understand use cases. * Work with product managers to design processes, workflows and functional components that address specific use cases. * Deep dive into specific functional areas and produce detailed requirements and specifications. * Communicate to, iterate with, and support engineers through the implementation and testing phases of specific feature sets. * Build mini-feature roadmaps that ensure we can incrementally build specific logic that will grow in complexity over time. * Assist in evaluation of vendors (including their technical API capabilities) and driving the integration work.
Ideal Candidate
* Structured, framework thinker who is also analytical and detail-oriented * Strong sense of ownership and responsibility that will translate well in an atmosphere of ambiguity * Ability to span the full stack of a problem from the high-level down to the nitty-gritty details * Feel comfortable taking in a lot of information, making sense of it, and teasing out what is important * Enjoy talking to people who have deep subject matter expertise, guiding the conversation, and asking questions to get what is needed * Can internalize subject matter, recognize relationships and interconnections, and communicate them to engineering teams in a coherent and efficient way * Experience with large complex systems (i.e. many distinct components with interconnected workflows, many different types of users, financial systems that interact with the capital markets) * Been in a hands-on technical role / environment for at least several years * Bonus: Built prototypes/models as a representation of business requirements * Bonus: Familiarity with or ability to learn a domain specific language for the purposes of high-level implementations/modelling
