Summary
The Connected Car Product Line Manager will work closely with a cross-functional team across product management, product marketing and sales to drive the success of Jasper’s global automotive SaaS offering. In this role, you will drive the front end product management process to define and shape the product strategy, product vision and roadmap for this solution. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, CA
Responsibilities
* Lead and own product strategy, product vision and strategic product roadmap based on field and market insight for Automotive industry vertical * Drive discovery of customer needs, drive rapid prototyping & validation of proposed solution and corresponding economic value as well as winning value proposition for the product line * Outline the Winnable TAM (Total Available Market) and identify specific target segments for product lines * Define, track, and report on product line success metrics & goals * Lead opportunities to drive generative innovation and competitive differentiation to extend product value proposition for target segment as well as eco-system partners (enable partners to bring unique services to the market) * Work with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to take products from ideas all the way to commercial launch * Act as a subject matter expert with partners and their customers to understand their businesses, define product offerings that create value for customers, and create actionable plans to deliver these offerings. * Prioritize between challenges, problems and opportunities with business rationale and help definition of product roadmap jointly with Horizontal Product Management team * Develop user stories and business requirements- partner with application product managers in the development and definition of product specifications * Partner with our Solution Engineering team in the field in the definition of products/solutions for near-term automotive prospects * Partner with Product Marketing to envision and execute the messaging of products/features, surfacing the value and capabilities of our offerings in the context of the customer’s business needs
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years of relevant experience * MBA from top-tier Business School or relevant experience in product management role or other business role in lieu of an MBA * Strong ability to understand Automotive customers/Operator Customers business needs in order to align product vision and roadmap * Must demonstrate strategic thinking, thought leadership as well as ability to lead initiatives through implementation * Exceptional skills in value proposition creation, across quantitative and qualitative dimensions * Excellent critical and analytic thinking skills to make good decisions * Excellent communication skills including ability to persuasively deliver presentations to senior executives, partners and customer stakeholders * Experience in automotive space, wireless or mobile technology. * Background in enterprise software critical, with experience in Software-as-a-Service and/or Machine-to-Machine applications a strong plus * Fast executor, self-starter * Travel: 10-25%
