The Transceiver Module Business Group manages pluggable Transceiver Modules for Data Center, Multi-layered Enterprise Campus, Access, Metro, Carrier Ethernet, and Storage networking applications across Cisco switching and routing platforms. Pluggable transceivers offer a flexible, reliable and cost-effective solution to deploy and upgrade network connectivity.
Cisco is looking for a dynamic, success driven and entrepreneurial product manager to play a key role in defining the future of Cisco's optical transceiver product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have spent 5+ years in product/technology marketing with demonstrable success creating thought leadership in a new market.
- Product & solution definition (both technical and business)
- Collaborate with peers from the Enterprise, Datacenter and Service Provider segments to help drive TMG roadmap and future development.
- Ownership for the complete product lifecycle from PRD to EoS and everything in between, including forecasting
- Articulate and promote product portfolio value proposition and roadmap to key audiences including product management teams across Cisco segments, field teams and customers
- Engage with global sales teams to facilitate product ramp and sales
- Manage cross-functional relationships for bringing new products to market - including working with engineering, manufacturing, finance and sales
Key Requirements
- Technical background including a general understanding of networking and Cisco products and services.
- Specific knowledge of or prior experience with relevant networking technologies, knowledge of transceivers, and an understanding of Cisco's switching and routing portfolio.

- Understanding of and experience in applying complete life-cycle product management, including launch, transition, or end-of-life using appropriate methodology
- Works independently and on teams to complete projects using judgment and experience.
- Strong strategic, analytic, and messaging skills as well as ability to effectively engage and influence customer and internal BU decision makers.
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management, negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build relationships with peers and among Cisco sales and systems engineering staff, cross functional stakeholders, vendor partners and customers.
- Able to communicate complex technical and market issues clearly.
- Manages marketing and management of multiple product issues simultaneously.
- Proven track record of a strong work ethic
- Typically requires BSEE or equivalent plus 6-8 years related experience in marketing networking technologies and applications.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
