Summary
The Software Engineer will be a member of the team responsible for identifying and executing opportunities for growth at Vistaprint. Through an agile, customer focused, experiment-and-learn methodology the team will target new opportunities to serve small businesses. The dedicated team of technology, design, and product leaders will manage both the strategy and execution of the innovation process—including the end-to-end success of effective ideation, research validation, product development, and proof of market viability.
Responsibilities
Your role will involve You’ll join the team in its earliest stages of formation and will have the unique opportunity to help shape the future. Here’s the flavor of work that we know you’ll be doing on a regular basis: * Participating in the ideation process to identify solutions to customer challenges * Working with product designers and engineers to rapidly prototype next generation products / web applications * Developing software iteratively and deliver working code from scratch, front-to-back. * Practicing test driven development using unit tests and integration tests * Reviewing application with stakeholders each iteration
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a variety of skillsets to bring into the team to complement each other. The roles will involve rapid prototyping, open source experience, and a mix of front and backend experience. All candidates should have a diverse technical background, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for innovation. Basic requirements: * BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent * 5-10 years of experience with Object-oriented programming * Strong knowledge of design patterns and good software engineering principles * Practical application experience with agile/lean software development concepts and methodologies * Collaboration skills to effectively work with business partners and other technologists * Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment * Bonus skills: Experience developing consumer web applications, iOS and Android app development
