Accounting Administrative Assistant

The Chicago Cubs are the National League Baseball Team for Chicago, IL. Founded in 1876 as the Chicago White Stockings, the Cubs are a charter member of the National League. The Chicago Cubs are owned by the Ricketts family and headquartered at Wrigley Field.

This position is responsible for completing various administrative duties and some basic accounting tasks to assist members of the Accounting department.

* Monthly Close Process support: binding journals, filing and organizing reconciliations * Ad hoc audit & tax return related requests, such as pulling audit selection support * Ad hoc department projects and tasks for accounting team * Ad hoc projects utilizing Microsoft Office * Coordinating and processing of government financial survey reporting * Coordinate offsite storage & filing requests * General administrative assistance, such as scheduling recurring meetings, scanning files, check deposits, intra-department mail distribution (requiring an understanding of team members' roles), monitoring and assisting with response to centralized accounting e-mail addresses * Collection of data for owners' suite usage

**Required Qualifications** * Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or equivalent, or currently pursuing such degree * Demonstrated motivation and drive, proactively seeks to add value to the team * Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail * Demonstrated relationship building and communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a team * Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities * Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products * This position's hours will fluctuate based on need, ranging from 12-24 hours per week, likely across 2 – 3 days **Desired Qualifications** * Previous experience as an administrative assistant * Previous experience in an accounting department
