Summary
As the Director of Product Management you will define the strategy for a suite of products and align product teams and other stakeholders for consistent client delivery. Responsibilities range from increasing the profitability of existing products to planning and developing new products which exceed dealer expectations in each theater of operation. Based on best practices, your experience, input from key stakeholders and frequent contact with CDK clients and prospects you and your team will define solutions which lead to client delight. You will provide both strategic vision and assist with many aspects of ideation through execution of a solution set critical to CDK market value proposition. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, with the drive to make that vision a reality. The CDK solution set you will be responsible for are a core part of CDK’s work-flow solutions and instrumental to the automotive dealership’s retail processes. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand client problems, and finding innovative solutions for the broader market. You will be the Market Expert, Chief Evangelist and Primary Care Giver for your suite of products. CDK practices Agile software development, so you will also lead Product Managers of one or more Sprint Teams located in the US and India. You must be able to communicate effectively with, and exert influence over, all areas of the company to successfully lead tactical & strategic initiatives. You will work with senior leaders across all functional areas to define market-leading solutions that create true value for our clients. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your products, frequently working with CDK sales associates and key clients.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for the entire product lifecycle, from planning through development, launch, and retirement phases. Mentorship in the creation and maintenance of product roadmaps and responsibility for communication and alignment of roadmaps at a senior level. * Accountable for monitoring and interpreting all trends that occur within the Automotive vertical, the competitors in the space, and the surrounding industry segments. Based on these industry insights, formulate recommendations and propose product roadmaps to senior management on the direction of the product suite. * Development of detailed business case and financial models supporting the product roadmap and investment in order to achieve the necessary financial results. * This position requires periodic travel (20-30%) to customers and as well as U.S. and international CDK locations.
Ideal Candidate
**Skills & Experience** * Experience working in a B2B market with SaaS products and services * Experience with the development of and integration with multiple back-end systems as well as front-end customer-facing solutions. * Experience with cross functional process improvements projects on an enterprise scale * Experience and participation in product management, Scrum and Agile ceremonies and activities * Development of key performance indicators (KPI) and Objective and Key Results (OKR) and foundation of business decisions * Experience with collaborative product development between India/offshore and the U.S. * Track record of negotiating complex business environments (i.e. aligning roadmaps with multiple decision-makers in a large corporation) and then working with agile teams to deliver on-time, consistently * Demonstrated ability to exert influence and make & meet commitments in a highly-matrixed organization * Ability to analyze business and financial trends relative to product features and market trends * Experience with ensuring product solutions are being built based on SOLID principles and developed in a manner which takes advantage of state-of-the-art technologies. **Qualifications** * Undergraduate degree, plus 10+ years of directly related work experience in a Software, SaaS-based Software, or Online Services company * Minimum 6 years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar position including SaaS-based and/or Enterprise Applications * Experience with Agile tools (e.g. TFS, Jira or Rally, Version One, etc.) **The preferred candidate will also possess:** MBA or equivalent work experience Automotive industry experience
