Telecommunications Engineer

The Technical Engineer, Voice Telecommunications is responsible for the analysis, configuration and implementation of telecommunications services for CBS locations in New York City, and occasionally Special Events in other locales. The position communicates, consults with, and advises other departments on the deployment and use of telecommunications services and systems; this includes extensive site surveys and technology reviews.

* Generates work orders to on site 3rd party technicians. * Identify user requirements * Create, distribute and track work orders in various software applications * Validating completed work orders * Performs configuration changes for Cisco Hosted, Avaya CS1000, and Centrex telephones CBS Centrex locations. * Assists with moves/adds/changes and department relocations * Orders miscellaneous telephone equipment as needed for work orders * May include travel to sporting and News events for telecom installations

* Minimum three (3) years telecommunications experience in a large corporate environment * Two (2) years customer service experience. * Strong analytical problem solving skills * Willing to travel locally between multiple CBS NYC supported locations when needed. * Willing to travel to US based sporting and News events on occasional basis * Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. * Knowledge of TCP/IP and traditional telephony * Experience with Avaya CS1000 PBX is a plus * Experience with Cisco VoIP is a plus **Education/Certifications:** * Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
