Summary
Provide engineering support for an Army Product Management office. Must have experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing technical assessments of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) development and production programs. Must have experience as a contractor supporting Army officers (MAJ; LTC; COL) and collaborating with systems engineers, cost analysts, logisticians, and trainers. Must have expertise in RADAR systems. Active SECRET clearance required. Serves as a recognized authority, and/or project team leader with expert level knowledge in at least one engineering discipline in one or more of the company’s product/service areas. Engineering activities support both domestic and international products/services.
Responsibilities
* Collaborates with hardware and software designers/engineers, and analysts to develop, coordinate, analyze and evaluate hardware, software, or systems modeling and simulation-based studies and to examine ramifications of output, and design interfaces with various design systems. * Performs complex engineering assignments of an analysis, design or test nature requiring application of complex techniques and procedures. * Prepares complex engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection and reviews the analysis of less advanced engineers. * Reviews and critiques proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details. * Reviews development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices. * Performs research or other professional and scientific work in one or more software and/or hardware engineering disciplines involving the application of a knowledge of complex * engineering fundamentals. * Responsible for the development of preliminary and conceptual design processes and studies as well as the continuity of design details of specific engineering discipline or specialty area, and provides expert advice and direction to other professionals. * Resolves problems, extends and modifies techniques, and/or applies new, innovative, or experimental engineering theories using advanced mathematical techniques to analyze and evaluate engineering problems. * Provides guidance to less advanced engineers and may serve as a team lead on specific projects.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications:** * Must have experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing technical assessments of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) development and production programs. * Must have experience as a contractor supporting Army officers (MAJ; LTC; COL) and collaborating with systems engineers, cost analysts, logisticians, and trainers. * Must have expertise in RADAR systems. * Active SECRET clearance required. **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:** * Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10 to 12 years of related experience. Master’s degree or Ph.D. in at least one engineering discipline preferred. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** * Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required. **Desired Qualifications:** * Current expertise in Army PM RADARS products.
