Founded in 2005, Box powers more than 71,000 businesses globally, including AstraZeneca, General Electric, P&G, and The GAP. Summary
Box is seeking an experienced program manager to support the development of a PMO (program management organization) within the Sales Operations team (SOps) at Box. SOps directly supports the Sales organization through analytics, deal management, and numerous processes that enable us to sell complex products and engagements to massive organizations across the globe. The development of a PMO will support the efficient and consistent operations of all responsibilities of the SOps team through providing project management standards, discipline and accountability in execution, consistent engagement with stakeholders, development of metrics, and holistic prioritization of projects and programs. Additionally, this role will require the end-to-end management of some of the more complex programs within SOps.
Responsibilities
* Partner closely with SOps leadership to support and closely align on organizational priorities * Develop and maintain a PMO within SOps with an eye towards the most critical standards and practices that the team requires to execute successfully * Build out project management standards and best practices around communications, planning, stakeholder management, and more * Train, support, and mentor your SOps teammates in how to be the best project managers they can be * Maintain a centralized Plan of Record that provides transparency, accountability, and prioritization around all projects to stakeholders across the organization * Work with leadership to determine success for SOps -- from supporting the goal-setting process to analyzing, developing, and maintaining team metrics * Work with resources and leadership to prioritize projects (and help make the tough decisions); re-prioritize as needed in response to changing business needs. * Operate as the liason between SOps leadership and external resources (IT, contractors) on some of our larger efforts in order to ensure success in communications.
Ideal Candidate
* 5-7 years in program management (or relevant) experience, preferably within a cross-functional team and in the tech space * Focus on excellence in project management: You know what good project management looks like, including how to adapt an approach to the right situation, how to plan and hold others accountable, how to think about cross-functional dependencies, and how to respond to change and issues. * A natural teacher: You may be an expert in project management, but you want others to be experts as well; success for you is that you have created a team of independently-successful project managers. You get joy from helping and working with your teammates and see their successes as your own. * Superb communications and engagement abilities: You are a natural at knowing your audience and are able to communicate through numerous channels -- from chatting with execs to building beautiful Powerpoint decks, running focus groups, and simply knowing how to write a concise and meaningful email. * Strong bias for action, an intrinsic ability to deal with ambiguity, and natural perserverence. * Experience working with waterfall and / or Agile project management styles * Technical aptitude working with enterprise software suites (Salesforce, Workday, etc.) a plus
