Business Intelligence Technical Solution Analyst

The Blount family has been in the food business since 1880. Our product Line includes refrigerated and frozen gourmet soups, side dishes and entrees for food service and retail. The Company, headquartered in Fall River, MA, is the largest producer of clam chowder in New England and the largest manufacturer of Lobster bisque in the country.

Members of the Business Intelligence Technical Solution team identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs with internal customers from business units throughout the company. Members are tasked with turning data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. It is essential that analysts build an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues and deliver data that is accurate, congruent, reliable, and easily available.

• Partner with internal and external customers in a fast paced manufacturing environment to understand, validate, and document business processes and reporting needs.
• Interprets business requirements and determines optimum BI solutions to meet needs.
• Develop BI solutions using industry standard tools:
• Crystal Reports, SSRS/SSIS, T-SQL, Tableau, Data Warehouse
• Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms with an emphasis on ERP in a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interface and meet the needs of stakeholders from all levels of the organization.
• Identifies and recommends new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems.
• Enjoys, participates and thrives in a technical team environment that values sharing of knowledge and collaboration.
• Work closely with business partners to implement and integrate reporting systems and enhancements.
• Develops best practices for report deployments.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and end user communications.
• Must maintain professional/technical knowledge (attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices)
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• Must be able to effectively plan, initiate, and execute projects impacting the business via demonstrated project management skills

Education and/or Experience

• B.S. in a technical discipline along with 3 years prior experience providing business intelligence solutions in a manufacturing environment
• Prior ERP experience required, Sage X3 experience preferred
• Solid project management skills with the ability to plan, initiate, and execute projects impacting the business.
• Must be able to effectively interact with a diverse group; executives, managers, vendors, technical resources, and subject matter experts.
• Position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. Successful candidate must have the ability to effectively evaluate information/data to make technology recommendations.
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills. In addition, they must be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Demonstrated project management skills
