Summary
The Product Manager is responsible for analyzing opportunities across a number of products to support Blackbaud’s Payment Business. This includes the ability to work across teams to build better solutions through our service level architecture. Additionally, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work with outside partners in the payment space to manage existing relationships, while understanding new technologies that will directly impact the business. Working with the UX and engineering teams in an Agile environment, this person will drive innovation by working with customers and others in the industry to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Managing the engineering efforts that align with roadmap deliverables, the Product Manager will deliver new solutions to the market and will work to ensure successful implementation with Blackbaud customers and partners.
Responsibilities
* Create and maintain deep relationships with target customers, partners and industry experts to drive innovation * Lead the discovery process to understand customer needs and requirements. Generate detailed user stories that drive prototype development and operational changes. * Collaborate with the payment service SCRUM teams to ensure productive sprint planning sessions, reviews and retrospectives. * Maintain the functional quality of the work being delivered by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria. * Establish Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that is both feasible and valuable. * Communicate priorities based on well-defined and measured business cases. * Manage and prioritize your product backlog and be able to synthesize and communicate a product roadmap. * Align with goals and communicate progress across internal and external stakeholder groups. * Continuously evolve based on product lifecycle status and external events that impact the business. * Work cross-functionally to continuously improve product discovery, development, integration and launch efforts to effectively drive the business forward. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work across multiple teams within Blackbaud while delivering solutions to customers that have direct impact on their mission. The successful candidate will drive innovation in a rapidly growing space to deliver measurable results on time and on budget, by working with an extremely talented group of Payment Business professionals.
Ideal Candidate
* 2-5 years combined Product Management and Business Analysis/Planning experience (or similar role) in the software space. * Although not required, a working knowledge of the payment space, preferably having worked with payment providers or technology is beneficial. * Experience and passion in working with nonprofit organizations across the world. * Understanding of transaction based financial modeling. * Experience in SCRUM or Agile development practices and tools are desired. * Entrepreneurial spirited with a demonstrated track record of producing success with minimal supervision. * Ability to drive cross-functional teams to succeed in meeting the goals and objectives to move the business forward at all levels of the organization. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid presentation skills, and proven ability to manage teams on time and on task. * Very strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrate ability to achieve results through understanding and influence. * Excellent writing skills are required including examples of past work. * BS/BA required, Master’s degree preferred. * Travel up to 15% * Candidates for this position must be based in Charleston, SC.
