Summary
You have a proven track record of managing technical products, and are passionate about building the financial services company you always wished you worked at.You are an expert communicator, someone who can explain complex requirements to engineers, and in the next breath help operation leads update a product roadmap. It’s a good day when you get to write some requirements, whiteboard with engineers, and then write a little code (or at least some SQL).
Responsibilities
* In partnership with operation leads, own and manage all aspects of our Broker-Dealer products including automated cash flows, securities trading, and reconciliation * Develop a deep understanding of our business, including regulatory requirements for our systems * Drive complex back-end requirements and coordinate with product managers focusing on customer-facing work on other teams * Build highly available custody and trading systems to be used across the Betterment experience * Prioritize long-term risk and scale projects alongside near-term development efforts
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications:** * 4+ years of product management experience on a technical product or computational engine at a technology-focused company * Experience working on highly technical problems at scale * Experience and comfort working with and leveraging data to drive decisions * Pragmatic, with a track record of success working across teams * Empathy in the workplace * Great organizational skills, extra attention to detail * Creativity, breadth of interests and initiative * Interest in working in a fast-paced startup environment **Nice to Have:** * Interest in personal finance, financial planning, or investing * Broad knowledge of the securities industry * Experience working on trading, payments, ads or e-commerce systems, * Background in software engineering
