Summary

You are tenacious and always get to “yes.” You turned your childhood lawn mowing or babysitting business into a small empire. You are a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and are very organized. You are entrepreneurial, and can demonstrate quick thinking and creative problem solving. You have an interest in financial products and want to evangelize Betterment as the best answer to “What should I do with my money?” You are thrilled by the idea of selling something that has never been sold before – and employing a diagnostic sales approach to find clients and ensure they’re successful. As a primary point of contact between Betterment and its prospective defined contribution clients across the country, this role is key to launching and growing a “start-up within a start-up” and bringing our first set of defined contribution clients onboard.
Responsibilities
* Create the most effective sales pitch and presentation to sell Betterment defined contribution plans * Identify and move employer prospects through the pipeline to close * Partner with Product and Business Success teams to implement defined contribution plans and ensure long-term success * Be the internal voice of the defined contribution client to offer insights to all areas of the business to help build and market the product * Understand all aspects of the defined contribution world * Document and create scalable processes for a sales team
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking candidates who exhibit a strong desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment and who truly want to make a difference in the lives of our clients. **Successful candidates will have:** * A strong desire to work in a startup environment * Experience recruiting and managing a team * Bachelor's degree, or demonstrated working equivalent * A minimum of 5 years of work experience directly in sales * A proven track record of success * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to adapt and be creative, and initiative to learn * Scrappy, “can-do” attitude * Excellent organizational skills **Nice to have** * Experience in the financial services industry
