iOS Engineer

Beme is a hugely ambitious video-sharing platform founded by Casey Neistat and the former head of engineering at Tumblr, Matt Hackett.

• You’ll have a voice in the entire product, but will focus heavily on implementing new features while maintaining a robust internal foundation for persistence and views.
• Participate in a tight, collaborative conversation with our backend team regarding API structure, serialization, and optimization.

• Serious iOS SDK and Objective-C chops, having built and maintained multiple substantial apps from end to end
• Experience building consumer products with a wide install base, including maintaining support for older hardware
• Extreme comfort with everything from Core Data and building a pragmatic persistence layer to keeping in sync with a frequently partitioned RESTful API
• Unfazed by completely reworking a product flow after it sees the the harsh light of real user testing
• A pragmatic approach: interest in Swift, Reactive Cocoa, and other nifty tools, but a strong bias toward using a sturdy chisel over a laser CNC
• Bonus: Experience with AVFoundation and streaming video protocol innards and a love for pixel perfect designs that translate across screen sizes
