Director Safety & Operations Risk Management

Provide global direction and leadership in the areas of Safety & Global Operations Risk Management for the company.

Lead and facilitate the development of an EHS risk management process for Global Operations. Provide thought leadership. Understand the opportunities and threats to the business and develop long term strategic goals for the business and tactical plans to achieve the goals. Ensure appropriate internal controls and measurement systems are in place to ensure safety requirements are being met across the business. Develop and implement safety standards across the company that improve performance, reduce risk and support a learning organization, items may include: o Comprehensive risk assessment process (Hazop, PHA, LOPA, etc) o High hazard management program for the prevention of serious injuries and fatalities o Robust incident identification, reporting and investigation processes o Technical standards development/deployment in contractor safety, occupational safety, process safety o Training for leaders across the company relating

** Knowledge and Skills** * Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation skills * Strong problem solving and analysis skills * Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, international experience required * Knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements in USA, EU, Singapore and other key geographies where Baxalta has operations/business interests. * Knowledge of key company business practices and processes ** Judgment** * Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism in all aspects of the position * Able to differentiate between conflicting priorities and issues to identify underlying causes * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively
