Summary
BAE Systems is seeking a dynamic engineer to work with t he Remote Sensing (RS) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Colorado Springs, CO as a system architect focused on DoDAF product development and management for the RS Enterprise. Candidate will provide SE&I support to the SBIRS and Weather Enterprise programs in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center RS Directorate (SMC/RS). This individual will have experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based systems, and should have experience with DoD / AFSPC / SMC / IC DoDAF requirements, space and ground systems (especially at SMC), system acquisition, and systems engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Developing DoDAF products to support program milestones and documentation. Tracking and reporting product development status to government customer and SE&I leadership. Identifying necessary resources to accomplish requested tasking, and communicating those resource needs and conflicts to management. Managing program architecture baselines, and identifying impacts of proposed changes to those baselines. Supporting integration of architectures with other components of the technical baseline. Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Education and Experience:** * Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience **Required Skills and Education:** * Bachelor’s Degree is required. BS in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical, Communications Engineering (technical), Math, Physics, or equivalent. * 5+ years of DODAF and architecture development background Possesses understanding of architecture development tools and tool capabilities, specifically using System Architect and/or Enterprise Architect. * Strong understanding of fundamental architecture development and management processes. * Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with Space systems (especially at SMC), Weather systems, OPIR systems, and ground and space system acquisition. * Experience with interface management, change boards and change board processes. Understanding of relationship and linkage of program requirements to architecture elements. * Highly motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams. **Preferred Skills and Education:** * Master’s Degree is preferred. Weather programs and SBIRS-specific experience highly desired.
