Embedded System Engineer

Axiom Exergy is an energy storage company that develops energy management solutions for supermarkets and commercial buildings. Axiom Exergy offers a thermal energy storage retrofit and software solutions to monitor and manage the energy use of refrigerators. The company also offers a system integrator and thermal storage tank. Axiom Exergy was founded by Anthony Diamond and Amrit Robbins in 2014. It is headquartered in Richmond, California.

As our Special Embedded Systems Engineer, you will design, build, program, iterate, and integrate embedded systems projects from start to finish. You will work directly with the Director of Controls and Software and the VP of Engineering as guiding resources, but you will be primarily responsible for the success (or failure) of your projects.

You'll research and select ICs and embedded modules to provide the fuctionality required by your design. You'll develop and test embedded software critical for real-time control. You'll assemble and integrate the hardware to create a modular, reusable control panel, critical for the fuctionality of our industrial clean-tech project. Additionally, you will work directly with the Director of Controls and Software to develop a comprehensive control and data aquisition platform.

• B.S and/or M.S. in electrical / computer engineering, computer science, or similar.
• 2+ years industry experience in software development as well as embedded systems development, electrical and electronics design, testing, and analysis.
• Solid programming experience, preferably involving Java. Experience with Python, web development / JavaScript, and PLC ladder logic desirable.
• Familiarity with typical electronics tools, including meters, oscilloscopes, fabrication (soldering, crimping), etc.
• An enthusiastic self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, generates novel and creative solutions to tough problems, and is willing to put in the effort it takes to get this energy storage startup off the ground.
