Summary
At Axial the difference between making good software and great software is our test engineering team. You will pair with developers to teach them how to better perform exploratory testing, research coding tools to solve quality problems, develop and extend test automation frameworks, and work with managers to improve our development processes.
Responsibilities
In this role you will play a crucial part in everything we do to improve quality, speed up development time, and ship better products more consistently. You will be working in a growing, Agile development environment directly with developers on innovative projects and products. You will be assessing and mitigating risks, solving quality challenges, performing exploratory and automated testing, training and coaching developers and improving processes. * We write our web and mobile end-to-end tests with Protractor and Appium * We use Jenkins, Docker and Selenium Grid for test automation and cross-browser testing * We write our integration tests with Pytest and our performance tests with JMeter and Gatling * We use open source security tools to identify security risks and secure our systems and networks * Atlassian products, including JIRA, Confluence and HipChat, help us stayed organized and effectively communicate
Ideal Candidate
* You understand modern object-oriented development languages well enough to conduct code reviews and are familiar with common software architecture patterns * You have great exploratory testing skills and can coach skilled developers to become good exploratory testers * You have a wide understanding of test automation types and can make good decisions about types of test automation that should be used for various features * You are a critical thinker and frequently spot risks and problems that no one else in the team thought about * You are naturally curious and enjoy learning * You enjoy interacting with people and enjoy being a part of a team and helping others
