Summary
As a Head of Product Management within our Shotgun team, you will work alongside Shotgun’s co-founders and directly contribute to developing the long term product strategy and short-to-long term roadmaps. You’ll work closely with other functional leads, such as engineering, marketing and support, to continually improve our work & business processes. And most of all, you will lead & develop a dynamic product and design team building our next generation platform and updated suite of products and apps. You will be a unifying force for the entire product team, mentoring and supporting each product manager while also implementing just the right amount of process and tools to keep the team united while moving quickly. Most of our team members work from home offices and are located in different parts of the globe. This role can be home or office-based.
Responsibilities
* Drive Shotgun’s product roadmap, informed by partners, extensive customer and field interaction, deep knowledge of the media and entertainment landscapes and a keen sense of business strategy. * Lead, coach & mentor a team of product managers and designers, setting long term goals while focusing on short term execution. * Establish processes for the team and set high standards and appropriate support system for the team to succeed, providing them regular feedback and insight. * Partner with engineering and quality engineering team leads to proactively resolve complex problems. * Work with cross-functional teams to author product requirements. Collaborate with engineering to drive implementations. * You'll become the go-to person for product management practices by coaching, mentoring, and evangelizing team members across the Shotgun organization.
Ideal Candidate
**About you** * Experience working on a large cloud platform product, with hands-on experience both launching something new and scaling something really big. Desktop/native software experience is also a plus. * Proven experience designing and delivering world-class software products with a passion for creating a superlative user experience, down to those little details that matter. * Demonstrated experience leading & developing a high-performance product management team. We are looking for at least 5 years of experience managing a product team. * High-level understanding of the technical architecture of complex and highly scalable web applications. * Strong ability to collaborate with engineering teams and good understanding of technical issues so you are able to partner with them to create plans and solve problems. * Well-developed instincts to balance the introduction of process with the retention of organizational flexibility. * Serve as a product evangelist with marketing, sales, and the go-to-market organization to help them understand the vision, roadmap and best practices. * You've been recognized by peers for your conflict management and negotiation skills. * Exceptional analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to use data analysis and testing to improve customer experiences. * You’ve experienced working in an agile environment before, delivering a strategy via incremental releases. **Nice-to-have** * The ideal candidate will already have a good understanding of the Shotgun platform. * Experience in the media and entertainment industry. * Experience within start-ups as well as larger organizations.
