Summary
Candidate will help provide a secure, reliable, scalable, flexible, maintainable and efficient network operations footprint to meet current and strategic business objectives. Candidate must be highly versed in enterprise networks and all facets of both WANs and LANs including routers, switches, firewalls, web cache equipment, load balancers, VPN equipment, router access lists, firewall rule sets, and other enterprise network equipment and must be familiar with integrating new components into existing networks. The candidate must have recent hands on experience configuring and troubleshooting large enterprise networks and data centers. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and must be able to create Visio drawings and associated network documentation using Microsoft Office. The candidate will demonstrate flexibility and be able to complete any Network Engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
* Candidate will also provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior team members to ensure overall design consistency as well as supporting the enterprise network. * Contributes towards strategic technical plans and strategies for Network Operations and product support engineering teams. * Provides feedback and modifies engineering design and architecture to ensure compliance to relevant internal policies & contracted/regulatory obligations; evaluates and recommends new products to present to management. * Provides advanced multi-disciplinary knowledge, skills and experience in technical architecture and design. * Contributes towards and recommends capacity planning for customer facing, ground based technology systems. * Contributes towards recommendations and assessment of development/test/production ground based, customer facing environments for interrelated areas (server, storage, database, network, security) design, implementation, documentation (standards, processes, controls) and operational management of Network operations and related products and services. * Collaborates with Engineering, software development and other relevant internal business units and management to define business requirements for technical systems development and gain relevant buy-in for all strategic technical plans. * Brings technical knowledge from external sources and incorporates those ideas into Technical services. * Contributes towards architectural consulting expertise, direction and assistance to system analysts, system administrators and other engineering based architects. * Contributes towards and executes test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reports on findings and make recommendation for improvement. * Enables tighter business/technology alignment, better-quality decisions and the successful implementation of a customer facing, ground based systems architecture.
Ideal Candidate
* 8+ years in Networking, Network Infrastructure planning and designing and implementation * CCIE Certified candidates are highly preferred. * High level of experience in network security, firewalls, site-to-site and remote access technologies. * Experience in Cisco Voice and the understanding of the workings of an end-to-end call. * High level of F5 Load Balancer knowledge is a must and candidate must be able to hit the ground running with iRules, etc. * Full knowledge of protocol analyzers such as WireShark. Hands-on experience with large scale L2/L3 network design and implementation, specifications and protocols including IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, STP, WiFi, EIGRP, OSPF, IGMP, BGP, MPBGP, and MPLS. Full knowledge of Cisco networking software including NX-OS, IOS and IOS XE. * Expertise of technology architecture and infrastructure standards with the proven ability to design hardware and software solutions, systems options and risks analyses. * Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments. * Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing. * Highly self-motivated, self-directed and self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. * Strong project management and general business skills, including ability to identify and plan for cross-functional impact of work. * Demonstrated organizational skills and, high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills. * Excellent teaming skills and proven ability to work effectively across multiple teams and functional areas and the ability to coordinate work efforts of teammates as needed. * Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. * Proven ability to operate across multiple projects concurrently and assume the responsibility for the appropriate technical and architectural implementation of projects. * Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. * Satisfactory performance reviews.
