Summary
Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Project Coordinator, Architectural Specialties (AS) to be located in Lancaster, PA. As an integral part of the Architectural Specialties team, the Project Coordinator will plan and organize all phases of small projects. The Project Coordinator will partner with CAD and Project Managers on more complex projects to ensure projected costs, quality and schedule metrics are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating and responding to Request For Proposals (RFP's) for simple and/or moderately complex specialty ceiling products - Assessing RFP for missing information, product components or up-selling opportunities - Partnering with sourced vendors to build profitable price quotes for vended products - Submitting an accurate and on-time RFP package to customer - Reviewing customer orders and Creating Order Acknowledgement document summarizing final quantities and costs - Executing SAP/CES order transactions including material master, sales orders and PO to vendor - Creating manufacturing instructions to suppliers including completing production order forms - Negotiating and monitoring shipping schedules and ensuring invoices are received in a timely manner - Validating supplier invoice and releasing SAP billing block - Facilitating the creation and approval of submittal packages prior to commencing the order process - Recording of key metrics to enhance understanding of workload, forecasting, and goal achievement - Investigating and resolving customer dissatisfaction incidents - Working cooperatively with peers to achieve department goals around cost/margin, schedule and quality: train new employees, share best practices domestically and internationally, and develop standard work/procedures
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications for the Project Coordinator:** - Minimum Associates degree or 5 years relevant work experience in lieu of degree - Strong general mathematical abilities - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word - Experience in a customer-facing role - Margin achievement on assigned projects - Measured performance against yearly goals **Desired Qualifications for the Project Coordinator:** - Bachelor's Degree - Familiarity with the construction business, reading blueprints and/or understanding of the bidding process
