Summary
The Vice President of Product Management, CPQ will be responsible for all global product management activities from concept/vision, to strategic product planning, to product definition, to tactical execution.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with leadership and product teams to lead product design and delivery * Span of control includes – Product Management, User Experience, Documentation, and Release Management * Engage stakeholders to align on clear, actionable product strategy and priorities to deliver optimal results for customers and our business * Drive and facilitate the planning process to provide focus and alignment on critical strategies to delight our customers. Aggressively identify opportunities for improvement, and incorporate new product features on an ongoing basis * Effectively collaborate with sales, marketing, services, operations and engineering teams to develop requirements, prioritize enhancements, translate into PRDs and drive projects to completion * Evangelize the product vision * Define, track and improve key product metrics Work closely with Apttus’ platform provider, Salesforce.com, to ensure that our platform needs are prioritized to meet the needs our Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) roadmap * Own the release management process in partnership with the CTO and head of engineering
Ideal Candidate
* Heavy start-up experience * 5 - 10 years of extensive product management leadership experience developing, building, and launching web-based business applications * A seasoned business leader and a visionary with proven track record of delivering successful products in the Salesforce.com SaaS space * Has owned the entire product management function for a company * Communication, leadership, team building, and people management skills that your employees appreciate and competitors envy * Development and execution of tactical plans. Must be able to translate broad strategic objectives * A blend of management, technical, creative, business, and marketing skills * Demonstrated strong capabilities in communication - both oral and written - and presentation skills for all levels of audience * Capability to execute rapidly and efficiently in an unstructured environment * Ability to translate strategy into tactical plans * Outstanding team player with the ability to coordinate people and activities across multiple functional areas * Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities, balance customer needs with business priorities, and articulate the rationale behind decisions * Experience in product design or engineering background a plus * Bachelors degree required * MBA or CS degree a plus
