Production Supervisor

Appeeling Fruit Inc is a fresh apple processor producing healthy, conveniently packaged food products. Food safety and product quality will always be the primary consideration in Appeeling Fruit’s operations.

Performs all aspects of supervising production, including the management of line leads and their workers, machines, and handling of raw and finished product; Directly responsible for the entire production operation during designated hours. - Supervision and directing of the production floor. - Oversight of four direct report employees and numerous line workers for the completion of finished product. - Enforce AFI's and our customer’s specifications, SSOP's and GMP's. - Ensure all paperwork from subordinate leads is properly filled out and turned into production office. - Have operational knowledge of all machinery inside production. - Communicate well with production manager and all direct report employees. - Communicate need to know information to QA, maintenance and S&R. - Record times and lot numbers as raw product is entered into the system and accurately record finished product lots and time when product is finished in the absence of the forklift operator. - Responsible for ensuring hourly metal detector checks are being completed in absence of Packaging Line Lead or Quality Control Specialist. - Responsible for ensuring treatment levels are maintained and hourly checks are completed in the absence of the Processing Line Lead and Quality Assurance Technician. - Responsible for reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

- High School Diploma (post high school education a plus) - Previous production supervision 1+ years - At least 3+ year related experience in Food service/Manufacturing. - Basic Computer Skills - Ability to maintain and supervise up to 30 people at one time. - Ability to speak/understand English. Spanish a plus. Physical Requirements: 90% Standing/Walking, 10% sitting; 80% use of hands, 20% reaching, Lift up to 75 lbs. Work Environment: Typically works on the production floor. Must be able to perform duties in temperatures ranging from 30 to 45 degrees 8+ hours a day. Cold maintained environment. Knowledge: Basic knowledge of food safety, manufacturing GMP's. Any additional food safety training is a plus, but not necessary. Additional Functions: - Self motivated towards continual process improvement. - Participate in selected teams and/or committees for production representation. - Have working knowledge of all machinery inside production to troubleshoot and provide maintenance with insight of problems occurring. - Reduce waste and downtime to be as minimal as possible. - Provide an accurate number, daily, on how many temps are required for the next day’s work. - Stay current on AFI forklift certification. - Provide direct report employees with an accurate and honest annual review. - Calculate finished product needs to prevent cutting extra product. - Review daily production worksheets submitted by line leads. - Report deficiencies and make on the spot corrections as necessary. - Support Production Manager and Appeeling Fruit, Inc. - All additional duties assigned by Production Manager.
