Accountant, Fixed Assets

AOL Lifestream is a web-based application that enables users to keep track of all their comments on social networking sites. Integrated with AIM Express, AIM 7, and AIM for Mac, users can publish their statuses, reply to comments on networking sites from their Lifestream tab, and more. AOL Lifestream is a product of AOL.

AOL incurs a variety of capital expenditures through its core business. It is the responsibility of the Fixed Asset Accounting Group to ensure capitalizing assets accurately and perform detailed analysis of the company’s financial position. This position will report to the Manager of Fixed Asset and Product Development Accounting and manage one Accountant.

* Prepare monthly journal entries related to fixed assets and capital leases; ensure compliance with the financial policies and procedures * Perform monthly balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations * Prepare inputs to the cashflow tool * Research cash payments related to product development contracts to facilitate the inputs to the cashflow tool * Perform monthly analytics (fixed asset roll-forward, balance sheet flux analysis, working capital forecasts, etc.) * Work closely with various teams in the company (Finance, Asset Management, Leasing, Business owners, and Accounts Payable) * Assist with process improvement initiatives * Compile internal key metrics data * Respond to internal and external audit requests

**Education and Experience:** * Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or related field is required * 2-4 years of previous experience in the field of audit/assurance services and/or fixed asset required * Advanced computer/excel skills * CPA or CPA candidate **The following experience is not required but is preferred:** * SAP * Hyperion/HFM * Key Competencies * Attention to detail and accuracy * Organizational & Analytical skills * Problem-solving skills * Ability to work under tight deadlines during accounting close cycles * Ability to prioritize work * Strong written and oral communication skills
