Senior Front End Engineer

Animoto makes it easy to create professional-quality videos on your computer and mobile device. At our core, we believe that video is the most powerful way to communicate what you care most deeply about -- whether that’s your family, business, or a cause -- and that making videos shouldn’t be limited to only those with technical know-how and expensive production equipment.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to help propel our award-winning video creation service to the next level. As a member of the Front End Team, you will be developing a responsive, elegant web experience and pioneering the next generation of video creation software

• Collaborate with a team of engineers and product developers to develop new features
• Write maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code
• Maintain design, user experience and brand requirements throughout the development process
• Advocate for best practices, great usability and exceptional quality

• 5+ years professional experience building front end web experiences
• Solid understanding of web standards, CSS-based design, cross-browser compatibility
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript
• Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling
• Familiarity with server-side MVC web frameworks (Ruby on Rails a plus)
• Client-side performance and optimization experience
• Be able to translate wireframes and mockups into code with a good grasp of document structure and semantics
• Have a good visual design sense and understanding of basic usability concepts
• Have excellent communication and organization skills
