Claims Clerk

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates as a multinational property and casualty insurance company. Founded in 1998 to provide workers’ compensation insurance to small businesses in the United States, the company now operates in three segments around the globe: Small Commercial Business Insurance, Specialty Risk and Extended Warranty, and Specialty Middle-Market Property and Casualty Program Insurance.

Performs various support functions for the claims department that include, but are not limited to, those listed in the essential job functions section below.

* Provide telephone support for incoming calls, including taking loss notices that are called in. * Open, sort, scan and complete initial indexing information on incoming mail. * Complete the initial entry of loss notices in the claims system and distribute the claim to the appropriate supervisor. * Perform research on losses that have entry-level coverage issues. * Provide claim file storage services-boxing, shipping, and maintaining records. * Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers, printers, copy machines, facsimie receiver/transmitter and mailing equipment. * Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

* Ability to take direction and make decisions. * Self organized and detail oriented. * Professional telephone demeanor and good oral communication skills. * Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast paced environment. * Basic understanding of business technology. **Education** * High School Diploma * 6 months experience in a insurance claims department or related experience.
