Entry Level Civil/Structural Engineer

Amec Foster Wheeler designs, delivers and maintains strategic and complex infrastructure assets across a range of markets and is structured around four business units. The engineering and project delivery operations will be managed through three geographic business units: Americas; Northern Europe & Commonwealth of Independent States; Africa, Middle East, Asia & Southern Europe. The Global Power Group, the power equipment business, will operate across all geographies.

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for an entry level Civil Structural Engineer to work as a consulting design engineer, servicing our commercial nuclear power clients in the United States of America

• Work in project teams providing design and analysis solutions
• Prepare structural analysis and design calculations
• Prepare drawings (working with CAD department) for conceptual and detailed design
• Author reports and other design documents required by nuclear clients for the plant modification change process
• Design concrete, steel building structures, or suspended systems (piping, HVAC ducting, conduit, cable trays, tanks, equipment, and supports)
• Perform structural engineering work under our 10CFR50 Appendix B Quality Assurance Procedures
• Travel to client facilities to perform inspections, provide responsive answers during construction, or attend / conduct meetings

Required Qualifications:

• USA citizenship or US Permanent Resident
• Civil / Structural Engineer with a BS degree from a US-credited college (or higher)
• Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, Mathcad
• Knowledge of ACI 318 and AISC Codes
• Must have good written and communications skills
• Able to gain unescorted access at a U.S. nuclear power plant which requires drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or PhD in Structural Engineering is a plus
• Able to travel 50% or more
