Amazon’s Consumer Electronics design team is looking for a talented, passionate, detail-oriented User Experience Designer with strong visual design skills. Our CE business is one of the most dynamic, fast-growing and high-impact categories within the world’s premier ecommerce company and includes our wireless business and more. We need a customer-obsessed UX designer to translate business needs and requirements into intuitive, stunning, engaging and exceedingly usable experiences for US, EU and DE markets.

* Serve as the user advocate bringing Amazon’s renowned obsession with customer experience to user-centric processes, methodologies and designs while solving complex business needs. * Create compelling visual designs that inspire desire, supports the brand, and elevate product storytelling. * Work in close collaboration with product managers, web developers, marketing and business partners * Drive white-boarding sessions to conceptualize design solutions * Design wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture diagrams, interaction specifications, and functional prototypes * Propose, script and provide oversight for research and testing activities; respond to testing outcomes through iterative design practices * Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications that draw heavily upon Amazon-wide established standards * Develop and cultivate relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency on Amazon projects

Our ideal candidate has strong user experience and information architecture expertise coupled with excellent visual design, problem-solving, relationship building and communication skills. You balance your passion for inspired, compelling, elegant yet simple designs with a highly analytical nature, precise execution, and a relentless drive to design, build and deliver the best. **Basic Qualifications** * 6+ years of experience as a User Experience Designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role along with demonstrable visual design skills.A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating user-centered design solutions for presented problems and the results the design drove. * Strong user experience and information architecture skills, excellent visual design, problem-solving, relationship and communication skills. * Experience designing marketing pages, informational tools, transaction flows, and product detail pages for desktop, mobile and apps. * Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques. * Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides. * Strong understanding of the current state of web technology and best practices. * Experience crafting hypotheses and testing scripts for a variety of research modalities including usability labs, card sorts, and focus groups; understanding of A/B testing and site data. * Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs. * Ability as a self-starter willing and able to reach out to a broad community of design professionals for support, ideas, and company best practices. * Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience. * Proficiency designing and prototyping with a variety of tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, Axure, Keynote, After Effects. * Fluent in English, with impressive communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. **Preferred Qualifications** Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences within the organization. * Ability to create illustrations, visual images, and multi-media content to communicate complex ideas and product attributes. * Ability to rapid prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS a strong plus. * Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, user interviews, contextual inquiry) is a strong plus. * Experience in an agile development environment. * Desire to work in a start-up style environment, where iteration is encouraged. * Consumer electronics or telecom experience a plus.
