Summary

Align Technology is looking for a Manager of Fabrication Technologies for our expanding Raleigh, NC office. This exciting new role would be part of a culture that is helping to improve lives every day through digital dentistry. Align Technology, a leading innovator in medical devices, is looking for a Manager of Fabrication Technologies to lead the development of CAD/CAM systems. A successful candidate will create and communicate technical concepts of new projects and drive projects during the whole life cycle from research and feasibility to production. The CAD/CAM projects include: automation of 3D printing, laser cutting, thermal forming, and 5-axis milling of aligners. The Manager of Fabrication Technologies will work closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, QA, and IT teams to build, automate and deliver high quality products for treatment planning and fabrication. This position will report into the Director of 2D/3D technologies in our North Carolina location. Responsibilities
Functional management of the software development teams, responsible for: * Recruiting and mentoring software development engineers * Cultivate a positive, collaboration and innovative culture with a client focus * Delivery of roadmap commitments, managing time, scope and quality * Organize research feasibility studies * Continuously improve development process * Drive and contribute to technical solutions selection * Able to coordinate with internal customers on short-term and long-term projects * Lead and communicate effectively * Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and evolving environment, to drive delivery of solutions * Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Able to resolve scheduling and other conflicts in order to meet all deadlines * Proven track record of working with employees to develop clear career goals * Significant background developing and leading application development * Able to assess customer needs and remove impediments for teams to execute to an appropriate resolution.
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements:** * B.S. Computer Science / Engineering or similar degree or equivalent years of experience * 5+ years of management experience * 10+ years of software development * Extensive experience leading teams in excess of 10 engineers **Nice to Have/Optional** * Experience working in the field of digital dentistry or orthodontics * Experience working in a CAD/CAM Environment **Travel** 5% domestic and internationally
