Summary
AGCO is currently seeking a Custom Harvester Combine Support Technician to join our Field Service team in Hesston, KS. The Custom Harvester Combine Support Technician will be responsible for providing accurate and prompt field service support to commercial harvester owner-operators onsite and over the phone. The Custom Harvester Combine Support Technician will run diagnostics and perform the necessary adjustments, care, and preventive maintenance on custom harvester machinery. Additionally the Custom Harvester Combine Support Technician will be responsible for setting up mobile site locations and maintaining the parts inventory required to support current production harvesting machinery.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical service support related to product performance and reliability of commercial harvesting machinery - Assist or counsel commercial harvester operators on service related matters and provide preventive service maintenance support when required - Set up mobile site locations and maintain parts inventory required to support current production harvesting machinery - Provide warrantable service repairs caused by workmanship and or defects in materials - Assist commercial operators with machine adjustments to achieve product performance for crop type and conditions - Process inquiries related to product performance, reliability, product features, service administration, product training, and warranty - Author solutions or service information, such as knowledge articles and objects, into a technical information database (SOURCE) from technical questions and answers entered in the contact management system - Structure responses in SOURCE consistent with defined standards governing incident content, quality and structure with sensitivity to cost of machine repairs to AGCO warranty, dealer, and customers - Become a technical "expert" on harvesting machinery through answering technical inquiries, field service calls, production plant visits, engineering center visits, and visits to dealers, customers, and trade shows - Evaluate new products and product improvements to ensure technical support activities are maintained or improved regarding product performance, reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction - Utilize existing tools to research technical solutions when said solutions are known, and work with Team Leader and/or Product Performance Manager on issues where technical solution is not known - Submit warranty claims on all parts and service work performed on commercial harvesting machines with detailed problem, root cause, and solution that qualify under warranty terms, within 24 hours - Facilitate product reliability improvements by assisting Product Performance Manager with identifying product issues, while maintaining or improving product performance, reliability, quality and customer satisfaction - Assist Technical Service Training organization to identify service training needs at AGCO dealerships - Serve as Subject Matter Expert to assist Training Department in development of training materials and programs necessary to enhance dealer service capabilities
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of experience in a technical service, mechanic, or technician role with a knowledge of hydraulics, engine, gear train, electrical systems, electronics, and air conditioning repair, in combination with an associate's degree or 7+ years of the aforementioned experience in combination with a high school diploma - 1+ of experience utilizing an electronic diagnostics tool **Preferred Qualifications of the Custom Harvester Combine Support Technician:** - 2+ years of experience repairing agricultural or heavy equipment - 2+ years of experience working at a dealership - CDL (Commercial Driver's License) **Education of the Custom Harvester Combine Support Technician:** - High school diploma is required - Associate's degree is preferred **Note:** * Relocation assistance is available to the Hesston, KS area for this position. Additionally, heavy travel to customer sites located throughout the Midwest during the harvest season is required.
