* Develops and administers plans and programs to meet manufacturing objectives in accordance with established policies and goals, marketing forecasts, quality requirements, and budgetary limitations by establishing operating objectives and determining staffing and facility requirements for manufacturing activities.
* Monitors actual versus planned operations to ensure efficient accomplishment of objectives, keeping senior division management informed, and taking corrective actions for deviations from Plan. Accountable for operating expenses, payroll, and capital expenditure budgets. May represent organization at Plan Review meetings.
* Sets goals to ensure the plant's financial goals are met (throughput, cost control, efficiency programs, headcount, capital, distressed inventory, safety, and quality)
* Procures and utilizes capital funds, operating facilities, personnel, and other company resources under direct or indirect jurisdiction and control.
* Establishes policies/procedures/guidelines for the development of operational objectives, budgets, plans, and control procedures.
* Ensures the manufactured products and facility meet the quality, safety, and environmental requirements and regulations governing manufacturing operations. Strives for continuous improvement on product quality to meet customer needs. Role is critical in CAPA system.
* Develops and maintains an organization structure which will make the best use of the company's employees in the attainment of the established objectives and programs, by means of continuous selection, training, evaluation, and development.
* With staff and input from other organizations, able to synthesize action plans, timelines, and budgets for project and product goals. Able to communicate across the entire organization. Set up teams, where necessary, to solve manufacturing issues.
* Responsible for establishing goals and objectives for the staff and the organization; reviews and approves performance assessments, salary actions, exceptions to Plan, hiring and selection decisions; reviews and recommends significant disciplinary actions; responsible for managing headcount forecast changes and implications; and is accountable for plant safety and security concerns. Role is essential in creating a safe work environment, with motivated employees. The incumbent Manager is active in succession planning, people development, and mentoring at the division level.
* Ensures compliance to all government regulations, both local and federal. Represents AbbVie to external parties.
