Summary
Works with general supervision developing engineering product designs or processes (which may include assembly, test, fixtures, tooling and software). Develops and performs engineering tests in support of design qualification. Documents test procedures and results in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. Mechanically design and support the fabrication of test fixtures and test equipment. Work with outside consultants or vendors to fabricate the test equipment within budgetary guidelines. Utilize the new test equipment to verify performance of medical devices.
Responsibilities
* Design products and/or processes under limited supervision of more senior engineer or manager * Writes protocols, performs tests, and writes reports in accordance with policies and procedures * Generates engineering documentation of design output * Responsible performing assignments in accordance with AMO standards.
Ideal Candidate
* BS in Math, Science or Engineering, or equivalent years of work experience. * Mechanical Engineer Degree or Biomedical Engineering degree emphasis on mechanical is preferred * Basic skills in utilizing computer design tools (as applicable) * Ability to use standard engineering, development and test equipment (as applicable) * Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work in a team environment * This level of experience would typically be achieved through 2 years related work experience * Some mechanical CAD (SWX, Pro-E, NX) * Solid mechanical engineering book knowledge, hands-on with mechanical aptitude/intuition * Self-starter/takes initiative * Ready to absorb knowledge/thirst for learning/inquisitive * Works well in team environments * Communication and technical presentation skills
