Summary

We are seeking a highly creative and technically hands on Sr Sales Engineer to communicate and demonstrate how 1010data will deliver business value to our Fortune 500 customers. This exciting responsibility sits at the nexus of solutions architecture, sales, product management, and analytics.

The right person will be thrive in the unknown; they will have the ability to work with a range of industries / business challenges that they may never have been exposed to before and be able to translate existing knowledge into something meaningful for the audience.

Making the decision to move a vertical application to 1010data is a major consideration for any technology company. The Partner SC’s primary challenge is to work with technology companies considering 1010data as an analytic development platform for their enterprise analytic solutions.

This includes solution design, hands-on application development, training, and developing deep relationships with their technologists.

Responsibilities
  • Work with technology companies considering 1010data as an analytic development platform for their enterprise analytic solutions.
  • Give introductory demo & presentation of 1010data in a clear and concise manner to help prospects understand the value proposition versus market alternatives
  • Collaborate with prospects to understand their business needs and translate their requirements into a solution to meet those objectives
  • Work closely within the organization across teams to ensure the prospect and/or customer’s business needs are met during trial and through the implementation process
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure prospects become successful customers of 1010data
  • Create presales materials and proposals
  • Ability and eagerness to run compelling prospect pilots; involves learning about the prospect’s business and building a focused solution (e.g. applications, reports, and/or simple queries) for the prospect during the pilot that showcases and quantifies business value
Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience

  • STEM degree; Graduate degree a plus.
  • 3+ years enterprise sales engineering/pre-sales experience demonstrating and delivering proof concepts
  • 3-5 years of experience demonstrating customer insight analytics would be ideal.
  • 2+ years of experience developing enterprise analytic applications. Experience with data warehouses like Netezza, Greenplum, SAP HANA, and/or open-source technologies like Spark, Hadoop, and MongoDB is a big plus
  • Experience scoping, managing and executing customer pilots and Proof of Concept
  • Project management experience for large-scale enterprise projects (e.g ERP or data warehouse implementation

Desired

  • People management experience (remote or off-shore experience a plus
  • Experience training internal or external customers on new technologies
  • Experience with data warehouses like Netezza, Greenplum, SAP HANA, and/or open-source technologies like Spark, Hadoop, and MongoDB is a big plus.
