Zype is the video distribution service for OTT. We are dedicated to making it easy for content owners to connect directly with their audiences on every screen. With Zype, content owners can own and accelerate all aspects of video distribution direct to consumer.
The Sales Development Representative will work inside the Zype Growth team and be responsible for sourcing and qualifying high quality sales opportunities in alongside senior members of the sales teams. This role reports to the Director of Inside Sales based in New York City. The focus will be on prospecting, nurturing and qualifying high quality leads utilizing best practices from the Predictable Revenue sales model. The Sales Development Representative will start as a trailblazing individual contributor with upward mobility in other opportunities at Zype. This position will be based out of our New York City office, and will be conducting sales development via email, phone, and web conference with limited to no travel. Performance will be measured in part by KPIs and rewarded based on results.
* Source new business opportunities that fit with Zype’s target customer profile * Develop and execute outbound email/phone campaigns with the goal of generating new qualified opportunities from cold accounts. * Initiate sales conversations with key contacts at target companies * Determine when to move a qualified lead down the funnel, when a lead isn’t quite ready yet, and when a lead just isn’t a good fit for Zype * Help to shape best practices around Zype’s Sales Development program and create replicable processes * Use Salesforce, Marketo and other sales and marketing tools, build prospect lists, craft outbound messaging, and create insightful reporting dashboards to share results and trends with the larger sales team * Report and manage objectives and key results including pipeline generation and activity metrics on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis * Successfully hand off qualified sales opportunities to senior members of the Zype Sales team
Ideal Candidate
* Worked in a sales or sales development role for 6 months minimum - familiarity with predictable revenue methodology a big plus * Tenacity and perseverance - unlocking a high quality opportunity can take months of contact and you will hear “no” many times along the way * Excellent writing skills (seriously, you should love and be proud of your writing ability) * Excellent verbal communication skills, especially in terms of comfort with conducting phone calls * Ability to clearly and effectively communicate solution-based value in a sales situation * Attention to detail and ability to personalize outreach strategy in order to find what works best * Curiosity and willingness to approach every conversation (internal and external) as a learning experience * Proficient with Google Apps and Salesforce - if you’re new to these tools we’ll provide training * Must be comfortable working in a dynamic and challenging environment * Currently live and work in NYC area * 4 Year Degree required
