Summary
The Ecommerce Lead Web Developer is responsible for all Ecommerce front-end coding activities related to Zones online vehicles, including the website, all microsites, email marketing, social media, and online publications. This position sets the standards for all front-end online coding best practices at Zones, and is responsible for that portion of the Online Style Guide. Continually audits the site for page load, page weight, and performance, and ensures production team follows best practices. This person will need to have the ability to see the big picture and make recommendations to change current practices bringing the Zones codebase up to best practices.
Responsibilities
**Front-end Coding** * set the standards and draft code for all page types on all online assets, including the website, all microsites, email marketing, social media, and online publications * Work with Lead Web Designer to ensure all code comps match design comps, before sending code to production team * Ensure the production team has the information they need to accurately reproduce code on the pertinent online asset * Use existing knowledge and tools to ensure consistent rendering in all email programs **Audit coding practices** * actively participate in the approval routing process for all online assets at each stage: dev, staging, and production * Ensure code renders accurately across all supported browsers and operating systems **Online Style Guide** * Ensure documentation of all best practices, policies, and procedures related to front-end online coding **Emerging Technologies** * Track and understand emerging front-end web coding best technologies, trends, and best practices **Miscellaneous** * Attend all appropriate meetings * Perform other duties as assigned * Maintain a positive work environment and communicates activities with co-workers
Ideal Candidate
* BA in Information Technology or a related field * Strong track record of success with front-end website coding including HTML 5, CSS 3, jQuery, PHP, and Wordpress * Deep understanding of the process of writing table based/in-line styled code for email marketing, and using existing knowledge and tools to ensure consistent rendering in all email programs * Experience with Java preferred * Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop preferred * Ability to handle a significant level of responsibility, manage projects and work independently, while also being a team player working closely with other department managers and SME’s
