Mobile Software Development Engineer

Zonar's Mobile Team owns an ever-growing ecosystem of Android applications running on customized hardware. We are now working on moving that software from a custom-built tablet to the general Android ecosystem. In this role, you will help in this effort to bring our apps to a wider audience. These apps include tools to help truck and bus drivers inspect their vehicles, track their hours, navigate, communicate with their back office (among others). You will be helping to improve and extend existing UI, enhance security, and help us to migrate our applications modern Android OS versions.

* Modify existing Android applications to run on a wider variety of devices * Implement better security measures to protect customer data * Collaborate with product owners to identify and make feature changes to take advantage of a better platform.

**What you will bring** * 2 years or more of software development experience * Strong proficiency in Android SDK, Java, and related technologies * Experience developing Android applications with Android Studio * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience **Preferred, not required** * Experience writing unit tests for Android using tools like Dagger, Mockito, and Robolectric * Familiarity with iOS development in Swift * Experience working with an ecosystem of applications vs. a stand-alone, self-contained application
