Summary
Performs activities associated with the technical service, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and analysis of returned medical devices at ZOLL Circulation.
Responsibilities
* Follow documented manufacturing instructions to perform troubleshooting, maintenance and service procedures on ZOLL Circulation devices (AutoPulse, Temperature Management and Future). * Read and understand work instructions, test manuals, product specifications, wiring diagrams and schematics to determine testing equipment and procedures to be used. * Compare results with specifications and record test data or plot test results on PC or associated service forms. * Perform functional and component level tests on sub-assemblies as well as finished devices. * Assist Complaints and QA team with returned device investigations focused on Battery, AutoPulse and TGXP archive analysis and interpretation. * Analyze test results and troubleshoot defective units to determine and document root cause of failure. * Maintain service records and test documents in accordance with the corporate quality system requirements. * Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, manufacturing engineering and others in the company regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems or improve processes. * Working knowledge of basic electromechanical design of components and equipment. * Solid computer and analytic skills especially with MS Excel * Capable of reading electrical schematics and performing moderate electrical device troubleshooting. * Work with engineering, manufacturing and other departments document new or improved service work instructions. * Provide input to engineering on device failures and suggestions for improvements. * Work with engineering to evaluate serviceability of new product prototypes and develop improved service concepts. * Perform telephone and on-site customer field service assistance as required in the Western USA region. * Assist in training of other technicians or personnel in troubleshooting, device repairs or other service procedures as required.
Ideal Candidate
* Language Ability - Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret written instruction in English. Additional languages a plus. * Math Ability - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. * Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems; able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Computer Skills – Strong ability to use Microsoft Office spreadsheet, word processing and email applications. * Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Travel – Occasional US domestic travel **Required Experience** * Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science degree preferred * 5+ Years experience servicing electromechanical products
