Video Editor

Zillow is looking for a Video Editor to create a wide range of high-quality multimedia content. This person must be able to handle a project independently from idea through completion, and tell a visually compelling story with creative editing. Whether it’s a 15-second promo, or a mini-documentary that unfolds over the course of 5 minutes (or more), Zillow’s videos are meant to inform, engage and inspire.The ideal candidate can edit according to scripts, storyboards or loose guidelines provided by stakeholders, the videographer or video producer. This person should be a collaborative worker and enjoy a fast paced, creative environment.

* Drive video projects through the post-production process to achieve best-in-class product * Coordinate with Marketing and stakeholders on multiple video projects * Design and produce simple multimedia and web graphics for use in different media vehicles * Attend and participate in creative and planning meetings * Collaborate with marketing department management to create concepts, scripts and storyboards * Source materials including stock imagery, photos, video clips and audio sources * Work closely with the Videographer and take ownership of and execute projects with pre-defined creative vision * Evaluate existing video content and identify areas of technical or editorial improvement * Drive all aspects of the video post-production process – from ingesting footage following a shoot to exporting for final delivery * Edit from scratch, relying on creative instincts and industry best practices * Collaborate with marketing and stakeholder teams concerning layout or editing approaches needed to increase dramatic or entertainment value of projects * Experience working with tight deadlines * Support the work of an external editing partners, film teams or post-production houses as needed. * Manage file storage, categorizing and archiving for all projects for our Digital Imaging team. Digital Asset Management team.

* 3-5 years of professional editing experience is required * Comfortable working knowledge of the Mac platform * Proficient in Adobe Production Suite: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Encore * Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop * Motion graphic experience a plus * Aware of trends in video across channels (YouTube, social media, etc.) * Effective verbal and written communication skills with technical/non-technical audiences * Ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently * Work quickly and meet deadlines
