Senior DevOps Engineer (SRE)

ZestFinance is a technology startup that uses machine learning and large-scale data analysis to transform credit availability for millions of Americans. Over the past 5 years, ZestFinance has built a big data underwriting technology that more accurately predicts likelihood of repayment. ZestFinance uses this technology to make loans to customer that banks typically overlook. ZestFinance also licenses its technology to other companies, including JD.com in China.

ZestFinance is excited to be looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer (SRE)! Our team is responsible for engineering our infrastructure with the same care and commitment as we do our software. From building software delivery pipelines to working with developers to ensure best systems engineering practices - our team acts as both the gatekeeper and backbone to our business critical systems.

* Serve as a primary point responsible the overall health, performance, and capacity of our business systems * Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new releases to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth * Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor our application stack. * Work closely with software engineers to ensure our applications are designed with "operability" in mind * Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation

* Deep UNIX/Linux systems knowledge and/or systems administration background * Strong trouble-shooting skills that span systems, network, and code * Demonstrated programming skills in one or more of: Python, Ruby, Java, C * Prior experience in an internet-facing technical operations role **Preferred Qualifications** * 5+ years in a UNIX-based web operations role * Experience with web-based Ruby and or AWS application stacks * Chef and or Ruby experience, specifically for systems automation
