ZestFinance uses this technology to make loans to customer that banks typically overlook. ZestFinance also licenses its technology to other companies, including JD.com in China.
ZestFinance is building a next generation data pipeline utilizing AWS (Amazon Web Services) technologies (Data Pipeline, Redshift) to support our quickly growing business units. We are looking for data engineers who are excited to take on data modeling and data replication challenges.

- Design and develop fault-tolerant data pipeline solutions addressing data replication, ETL (extract, transform, load), and data model challenges.
- Provide operational support for the data infrastructure / data pipeline such as monitoring and alerting with the help of our DevOps team.
- Design and develop a testing framework that encompasses data replication, ETL, and data model consistency.
- Work closely with Analysis, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to gather requirements, perform technical design and architecture, and implement features.
- Work with Engineering leadership to develop a data engineering roadmap and project plan for future investments in the data pipeline / infrastructure.
- 6+ years of experience with data pipelines / infrastructure, data modeling, ETLs
- 4+ years of development using SQL, Ruby on Rails or equivalent
- Experience with AWS e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Data Pipeline, Redshift
- Experience with TDD/BDD methodologies and testing frameworks including RSpec
- Experience with analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems (network analysis, performance and application issues)
- Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Github, Travis CI, Jenkins)
- Experience with monitoring/alerting tools (e.g. New Relic, Airbrake, PagerDuty)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience
- Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
