Tender Specialist

As a part of the NYK Group, Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. performs a key role in keeping world trade moving by offering air and ocean freight forwarding, global warehousing, reverse logistics, intermodal and multimodal transportation, and supply chain solutions to some of the world’s largest industries.

Provide support and coordination of Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs). Tender Coordination for the USA Regional Ocean Freight Forwarding division. Act as a liaison between US Sales/US Ocean RHQ and other global RHQs/GHQ/Overseas offices.

* Identify opportunity and strategy in conjunction with bid owner, management and foreign peers * Effectively coordinate tenders based on the strategy for the optimal result for organization * Validate proposal for accuracy and competitiveness * Maintain and analyze KPI of tenders and price reference * Create and maintain monthly lift reports, ad hoc reporting and assist with other basic duties related to the maintenance of FMC Compliance

* Associates’ Degree or Bachelor’s degree with preferred two or more years’ experience in International Freight Forwarding with some background or knowledge of ocean transportation. * Intermediate Excel skills required with minimum understanding/knowledge of Vlook-ups, formula writing, transfers between multiple sheets, transfers to graphs and charts and creation of pivot tables. * Ability to work well independently and under pressure to meet tender deadlines. **Core Competencies and Values** * Inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values. * Demonstrates ability to comply with YLA Core Competencies: Problem Solving & Decision Making, Accountability & Responsibility, Communication, Collaboration & Teamwork, and Customer Focus.
