Payroll Supervisor

The Supervisor Payroll is responsible for managing payroll related functions to ensure proper processing, auditing and generation of the company payroll for union and non-union employees. Identifies process improvement opportunities, conducts training, defines and documents processes, and partners with internal and external employees and departments. Coach, provide feedback and create development plans for staff.

* Manage day to day activities of staff that is responsible for processing payroll data. Ensure accurate and timely computing of gross payroll through automated systems * Understand requirements related to withholdings and deductions associated with net pay * Ensure payroll records are updated correctly including federal and state withholding and unemployment insurance as well as direct deposit information. * Creates analytical reports for corporate management. * Defines standard and repeatable operating procedures for the Payroll operational framework. * Train team members on new or enhanced operating procedures and policies. * Identify process improvement initiatives and define and document standards for new processes and procedures. * Implement quality control measures and introduce process improvement based on results. Provides support to employees and other departments on payroll related issues

**Requirements:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or an equivalent combination of experience * Five (5) years of payroll experience * Ability to effectively supervise and organize work activities for team members * Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills * Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and database applications * Ability to adapt to changing environment * Ability to analyze/interpret data and quickly take appropriate action * Ability and interest in training other team members **Preferred Qualification:** * People Soft or Oracle experience * Union payroll experience * CPP – Certified Payroll Professional certification
